The mindful Birth Connection

About The Mindful Birth Connection

Prepare for birth with calm, confidence, and connection.

This 5-week course is designed to help you and your partner reduce anxiety, strengthen teamwork, and approach birth with mindfulness and trust. Each session blends relaxation, breathwork, and practical birth education. This course expands on The Mindful Birth Connection Workbook, a companion resource you’ll use throughout the course and at home.

Together, we’ll explore mindful movement, guided relaxation, affirmations, and simple practices that make birth preparation feel peaceful and empowering. Taught in a warm, small-group setting, this course is perfect for anyone seeking a positive, empowering birth experience.

Birth doesn’t have to be painless to be peaceful.

The Mindful Birth Connection helps your family meet each sensation, moment, and decision with calm awareness and confidence, no matter how your birth unfolds.

Jodie Rodriguez is a birth and postpartum doula, certified perinatal meditation guide, and NICU-informed doula who combines mindfulness, guided relaxation, and partner-centered support in her work. She focuses on helping families reduce stress and build confidence together, offering tools that support both the birthing person and their partner throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Her course creates a calm, safe environment where every family can learn, practice, and prepare for the birth experience they want.

FAQs

  • I recommend starting as early as you can! The sooner you learn the tools, the more time you have to practice them. Building these skills into habits during pregnancy makes them easier and more natural to use during labor.

  • This course is designed for pregnant individuals and their chosen birth partner, whether that’s a spouse, friend, sister, mom, or any support person.

  • No, this course doesnot replace a full birth education class. While we do cover an overview of the labor process, it does not meet the same requirements or in-depth curriculum of a childbirth education class.

Instead, this course focuses on building mind–body skills that help reduce stress, anxiety, and fear during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. You’ll learn practical tools all designed to keep your nervous system calm and your confidence steady.

This course also strongly supports partners. Many of the exercises help the birthing person teach their partner how to support them, and the partner learns how to communicate effectively, stay calm, and offer meaningful physical and emotional support during labor and birth. It’s a team-building approach that strengthens connection and prepares both of you to work together throughout the experience.

If you’re looking for a full childbirth education class, you are absolutely welcome to contact me. I’m happy to share recommendations for wonderful local instructors and programs I know of.

  • Nope, this course is perfect for beginners and returning parents alike.

  • No. This course is educational and supportive, but it does not replace medical care or guidance from your healthcare provider.

  • Yes, each week will include guided practice, movement or positioning, and time for questions. All activities are optional, non-religious, and modified to be safe during pregnancy.

  • Missed sessions are not refundable, but the instructor will do their best to offer makeup options when possible. Please notify the instructor if you are unable to attend.

  • Yes, one copy of The Mindful Birth Connection Workbook is included with your registration.

  • This is your journey, and you have complete control over who joins you. You’re welcome to attend solo.

That said, this course is designed with a strong teamwork focus. During labor, having one person you trust (a partner, friend, family member, or even your doula) can make a huge difference in helping you feel grounded, supported, and understood.

If you have someone who will be with you during labor, I highly encourage bringing them so they can learn the comfort measures, communication tools, and support techniques right alongside you. But if you don’t have a partner or you prefer to attend alone, you will still benefit fully from the course.
