Your birth plan should be completed for review with your doctor at your 36-week appointment. This will be discussed in our 37-week meeting.
I recommend creating a NICU contingency plan and putting it in your back pocket just in case. 1 out of 10 babies visit the NICU, so it’s best to prepare for it and hope for the best.
Here is another contingency plan to ensure you still have your preferences in place in case of a C-section. It also includes a plan for a VBAC!

Postpartum
Here’s a short, clear, and respectful list of rules for you to share to help enforce your boundaries. You likely have many family and friends who want to visit your baby. You should consider what boundaries you and your partner want to set before the baby arrives. Set specific dates and times for visits. Decide when you feel it’s safe to start having visitors and how many visitors would be reasonable.
These are the guided relaxation scripts Siobhan Miller wrote at the end of her book, Hypnobirthing: Practical Ways to Make Your Birth Better.
I encourage you to try them out with your partner reading them out to you and see if you like this. These can be used during labor, between surges, to bring you back to a state of calm and relaxation before the next surge.
